Hi guys! My dear and fun friend, Sahily and I have decided to guest blog on each others blog and do what we love to do. Sahily does amazing makeup and her blog is so much fun! Check it out guys here! I have wanted to blog about makeup and what better way to start it off then with a guest blogger? So without any further ado take over Sahily! Get it girl!
I’m Sahily from Prettyinpigment.com and I’m a South Florida beauty and fashion blogger. I have been passionate about makeup since my childhood, when I used to put makeup on my grandmother. My skills improved through the years and I have been a freelance makeup artist for over 5 years. Pretty In Pigment is where I share my love for makeup with the world by sharing tips, tricks, tutorials, product reviews and inspirational makeup looks. One of my favorite things about blogging is creating extraordinary lip and eye looks.
I would like to share a very fun and emerging lip trend with you; 3D lips! The 3D lip trend is similar to ombré, except there is more of an emphasis on showcasing the dimension of your lips. For women with small and/or thin lips, this is a great way to add more volume to your pucker. This trend has been seen on Lime Crime’s founder, Doe Deere, as well as many popular Instagram makeup artists. I’m sure it’s a look that you will see more of through the summer months.
Now you can master the 3D lip trend in a few simple steps. I have created an easy peasy tutorial that will help you master the trend just in time for your next out on the town!
Products You Will Need:
- 3 Shades of pink (or the color shade of your choice). I’m using MAC- Girl About Town, NYX- Fuchsia Lip Liner and Lime Crime- Great Pink Planet.
- Small lip brush
- White liner (optional)
- Sugarpill- Birthday Girl Loose Eye Shadow (optional)
Step 1: Start by concealing your lips so that you have a blank canvas to work with.
Step 2: Apply MAC’s Girl About Town all over your lips. If you are using a different color combo, use the medium shade.
Step 3: Using NYX- Fuchsia, or your darkest color/lip liner, line your lips. If you would like to change the shape of your lips, such as making them appear larger, this is the step you will need to do this. I wanted to make my lips look fuller so I over lined my lips. Don’t forget to connect and fill the corners of your lips in this step!
Step 4: Apply Lime Crime’s Great Pink Planet, or the lightest color on the center of your lips.
Step 5: Using your lip brush, softly blend the edges of the lighter center color with the darker edges to create an ombré or gradient effect. To add a little more dimension you can apply another dab of Great Pink Planet on the center of your lips.
Optional Step: If you want to kick this look up a few notches, you can add a few extra steps to add more drama. Using white liner, highlight your cupid’s bow and blend it with your lip color. Then, apply Sugarpill’s Birthday girl in the center of your lips. The iridescent pink shadow will attract more light, giving your lips more dimension and volume.
